Baseball Movie Event!

The Elm Grove Library will be showing the family-friendly baseball movie The Rookie on Thursday, October 30 at 1:00-3:15 p.m. The Elmbrook Public Schools are not in session on this date, so it will be a great day to spend some time at the library. There will be refreshments and door prizes, so bring your friends!
The Rookie is rated “G” and is 127 minutes long.

Dennis Quaid stars in this true story of teacher Jim Morris who had to leave minor league baseball because of an injury to his pitching arm. Twelve years later he is the coach of a high school team. He is so inspired by the young men he coaches that when they win the championship he decides to try to fulfill his own dream of trying out for the major league. When his arm proves strong enough to hang with the younger guys he is signed to the Tampa Bay minor league and eventually works his way up to their major league team. At 35, Jim was the oldest major league rookie in nearly 30 years.
